A love letter to Narendra Singh ji’s Italian sojourns, The Aviary is an outdoor dining space devoted to the simple pleasures of wood-fired pizzas, good wine, coffee, dessert and leisurely meals beneath endlessly blue skies. Once home to the Maharaja’s pet birds, the space still carries something of that lightness and charm.
Here, the table is set for indulgence. Think Italian tomatoes, fine cheeses and hand-pounded pesto finding their way onto Neapolitan pizzas alongside fresh salads and pillowy bread, finished, if you please, with desserts involving chocolate, banana and rum.
As for whether it is the best pizza in town, we would not dream of saying so. The town, however, seems to have formed its own opinion.
